The author, Rabbi Uri Landman [1838-1917], was the son of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Av”d Strelisk and Kitov [who was the son-in-law of the son of Rabbi Uri of Strelisk] and the son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai of Apte [son-in-law of the son-in-law of the Chozeh of Lublin].

He served as Av”d in וישנוביץ and Podu Iloaiei in Romania. He was a disciple of Rabbi Yitzchak of Niesuchojeże. A few of his works were published recently: The Ohr Yitzhar on Megillat Esther, Haggadah shel Pesach, High Holidays and more. He was the patriarch of the famed Rabbis and Admori\'\'m of the Landman family.
