Handstamps of his grandson Rabbi Yosef Chaim Lamm, Son-in-law of his son the Holy Rebbe Mordechai Aryeh Leibush Halberstam of Tarnow. He was born in Shinova & served as a Dayan in Tarnow.
During the Shinova Rebbe’s famous trip to the Land of Israel, he miraculously discovered this manuscript, which had previously been in the Chid"a’s possession (the Chid"a mentions it in his Shem HaGedolim) and had been lost ever since. When the Shinova Rebbe saw the manuscript at a local bookshop, he spent a large fortune to redeem it from the merchant, and then paid printers in Jerusalem to publish this sefer that was so important to him.
The holy Rebbe Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam (1815-1899), eldest son of the Admor author of the "Divrei Chaim" of Sanz. Giant in Torah, in the revealed and hidden, in Halacha and Chassidut. During the lifetime of his father he was already considered one of the leading rabbis and rebbes of his generation. Holy and pure from youth, served the greatest rebbes and was considered their prominent disciple.
Was known as a miracle worker. It is known in his name that he would instruct his students that they save his letters which will provide protection and salvation. He would also give out his objects as a segulah for protection and salvation.
The Gaon of Shamloy described him in his sefer: “A tzaddik who is the foundation of the world, from whom all the tzaddikim of the generation draw their [wisdom]…From him the bounty of parnassah descends… This is the tzaddik of the generation, the holy elder of whom we said, ‘In his shadow, we shall live.’ The entire world responded upon him, ‘He is holy; he is holy, ’ and [after his passing] there remained no one in the generation like him.” (Even Shlomo, Vayechi)

Overall Great condition, brittle pages, few stains, title page has some marginal tears one slightly affecting text, new vermillion leather binding.
