This is essentially the Brunn 1807 edition, issued with a new title page.


Long & interesting ownership inscription attesting ownership by the Gaon Rabbi David Zvi Ehrenfeld, Son-in-law of Maran the Chatam Sofer.

The Gaon Rabbi David Zvi Ehrenfeld (died in 1862; HaChatam Sofer V’Talmidav, pp. 117-120), close disciple and beloved son-in-law of the author of the Chatam Sofer. A great Torah scholar, he lived near his father- in-law in Pressburg, dealt in trade and refused to accept a rabbinical position. Rabbi Shmuel Ehrenfeld, Av Beit Din of Mattersdorf, author of Chatan Sofer was his son.
