Moshe Gershon Hacohen was born in 1722 & was a disciple of Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschutz. In 1748 he converted Rc”l & changed his name to Carl Anton. A professor of Jewish languages in the University of Halmstadt.
Anton published numerous books about different topics of Judaism, and during the polemic opposing the Sabbateans and Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschutz , Anton published a book in which he defended his former rabbi with whom he kept in touch. In the introduction to this book Anton declares that he still loves his people and his brothers.
Overall Good condition. some stains, some worming in left and upper margin sometimes affecting text, title page has edge page tears, original binding is rubbed out at corners. 17 Cm.
