A rare set that has only appeared at public auction a handful of times.


Part 2 with ownership inscription of R. Elazar Rosenberg of Warsaw-Praga.

The Holy Rebbi Yehuda Leib Eiger (1816-1888), the grandson of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, was the student of Rebbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk and later of Rebbi Mordechai Yosef of Izbica. He lived in Lublin, where he attracted many Hassidim and admirers. He was well-known in Poland and out of it is a holy miracle-maker. Among his Hassidim was Rebbi Tzadok Ha’Cohen of Lublin.

His Sefer "Imrei Emet" on the Torah, which includes among others the Divrei Torah he used to say of the Sabbath table, was published by his son and successor Rebbi Avraham Eiger  is considered a Chassidic classic.
