Ownership ink-stamp on title-page (with a picture of an eagle) Rabbi "M.AL Alter Jones Rabbin Bacau" in Hebrew and in foreign letters.

Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Leib Alter (Baharav), (1810-1873), a leading rabbi in Moldova, maintained correspondence with the Malbim. He was born thanks to the blessing of Rebbe Chaim of Tchernovitz who blessed his father that thanks to his involvement in releasing captives, he would be given a son that will be an outstanding rabbi. He wrote Divrei Moshe, which contains laws of Brit Milah and halachic responsum.

Owner’s ink-stamp: Rabbi Shabtai HaLevi Segal, Rabbi of Bohusz.

Rabbi Shabtai HaLevi Segal, Rabbi of Bohusz (1830-1903, Galicia Encyclopedia, Part 3, page 1048). Born in Felsztyn, next to Kaminetz, in Podolia. Rabbi in Yassi, Solitza, and Radowitz. Served for 40 years as Rabbi of Bohusz. From his many writings, the book of Responsa of the Rashbid, Part A was published (Klausenburg, 1926). 

Overall in Good Condition, stains, light worming to first title page & last 4 pages, few paper repairs, new binding.
