The author Rabbi Yehuda Leib Margaliot (1747-1811, Otzar haRabbanim 7348) was one of the leading rabbis in his generation. At the age of 18, he received rabbinic ordination from the Noda Biyehuda. In Aliyot Eliyahu, Note 77, there is a description of his visit by the Vilna Ga’on. He served in the rabbinate of many cities, the last of which were Lesla and Frankfurt de-Oder.
He wrote many additional Seforim: Korban Reishit Responsum (Frankfurt de-Oder 1778), Ohr Olam (Navi Dwor 1782), and more.
