Rabbu David ben Raphael Meldola was the son of the renowned Italian  Rabbi Raphael ben Samuel Jacob Meldola. This Meldola, who lived to be 104, went with his father to Bayonne and then to Amsterdam, where he settled. R. David Meldola undertook to print several of his father’s works as well as his own Seforim. Among his works are Tefillat Yesharim (Amstedam, 1740); Divrei David (Amsterdam and Hamburg, 1793-95) on Talmudic methodology; Darkhei David (Amsterdam and Hamburg, 1793-95); and others still in manuscript.
