Superb Snuff box is of rectangular form, the hinged lid is enameled with a colorful view of the majestic Synagogue of Cologne. Inscribed Köln at top corner of the enamel, the sides and base are engraved with simple crisscross and diamond shaped geometrical designs.

The Synagogue of Cologne, Germany was destroyed during Kristallnacht in 1939. this box was created before that date. The scene depicted in the enamel reflects the date when the box was made with the foreground displaying people dressed in the fashion of that time and a horse drawn carriage.
