Amulet is stunningly engraved with a center cartouche displaying a picturesque view of the old city of Jerusalem with the Western wall at bottom. the words ‘Kotel Hama’ravi’ are engraved in Hebrew at top of center cartouche and the words ‘Shadai Jerusalem’ are engraved at top of the amulet. A wavy lined design border is etched into the edges of the amulet and center display.

On reverse the letter ‘Hey’ is engraved with a Star of David etched inside. Center engraving features a similar scenic view of the burial place of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs with the words

‘Ma’arat HaMachpela’ engraved at top. Elegantly bordering the amulet and center cartouche have a with a surrounding wavy lined design.

The sheer size of this amulet is most unusual. Not made for local Jewish residents, this was likely made for Jews who came to visit the Holy Land and purchased this to take back with them as a spiritual souvenir (kamaya).

We are not aware of another Safed Amulet engraved by the Geiger family, this might very well be the only one
