The Holy Rebbi Baruch Hager (1895-1963) Born to his father Rebbi Yisrael, the ‘Ahavas Yisroel’ of Viznitz, appointed as Rabbi by Rabbi Meir Arik and Rabbi Avraham Menachem Mendel Steinberg. After WWII he ascended to Israel and settled in Haifa. In the beginning of the 1950’s he came up with the idea to set up a community for the Chasidim of Seret-Viznitz in the city of Haifa, In 1952 He began preperations for the construction of the new neighborhood. He was a member of the Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah of Agudas Yisrael. The Rabbi passed away the 2nd day of Cheshvon 1963 and laid to rest in the area of the Viznitz Rabbis in the Shomrai Shabbos cemetery in Bnei Brak.
