Inserted is a manuscript lamentation after the death of Rabbi Elyakim Getz in 1852 in Hebrew & German.

4 leaves, 6 Written sides, &  5 smaller written sides. 49 Cm.

The tremendous Gaon Rabbi Elyakim Getz Hakohen Schwerin av”d Baia was born in Schwerin in 1760 and studied by the Torah leaders of his time: Rabbi Yosef of Posen (son-in-law of the Noda B’Yehudah); Maharam Barby of Pressburg; and Rabbi Mordechai Banet of Nikolsburg. In 1812 he served as av”d in Szabadka and from 1815 av”d in Baia until his passing on the 23rd of Tevet, 1852. He was in constant touch with the Chatam Sofer on halachic issues, refer to: Ishim B’Teshuvot Chatam Sofer, p. 69-70.


Overall Very Good condition, letters have a couple marginal tears, later purple leather binding.
