Rabbi Aryeh Leibush was born in 1780 to Rabbi Yechiel Michal, who was the "Parnas" and leader of Lvov. He traced his lineage back to the Baal "Pnei Yehoshua" and he was the son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Yona Teumim. Rabbi Aryeh Leib married Mrs. Zisel, who had an illustrious lineage as the granddaughter of Rabbi Chaim Cohen, the Av Beit Din of Lvov. He also had connections to the Ramah, Maharim Padua, Maharsha, Maharshal, Bach, and Shach. Rabbi Aryeh Leib passed away in Lvov in 1843. He was a mechutan of Rabbi Shlomo Eger.
His son was Rabbi Yaakov Naftali Hirsch, who was married to the daughter of Rabbi Shaul Segal Levin of Karlin. He was the brother-in-law of the renowned Rabbi Yaakov Meir of Padua, who served as the Av Beit Din in Brisk. Rabbi Yaakov Naftali Hirsch was known to have two tables (a reference to his wealth), and he was considered a leader among the Charedim in Lvov, often standing before kings. The "Divrei Chayim" of Sanz contains two responses to questions directed to him. He left behind many writings awaiting redemption.
