Dedication Engraved on the Kiddush Cup Translated to:

" Dedicated to the Esteemed Groom our Rabbi and Teacher ‘David Dov the Kohen Weisberger’  His Candle Should Burn Bright, From His Dear Colleagues from the Members of the Yeshiva ‘Galanta’." 

In 1830, 556 Jews lived in Galanta , in 1840 there were 430; and in 1850 there were 670 Jews in the town. In 1880 they numbered 714, and in 1900 there were 937. The second Czechoslovak census of 1930 reported 1,274 Jews.
