Silver Megillah case Circa, 19th century Greece, with illuminated scroll. Scroll is gracefully hand-illustrated with plantation and floral designs as well as the twelve different Zodiac signs painted beautifully into the parchment columns. Scribed square pattern inking is clear throughout the scroll.
Silver casing is embossed with sophisticated hand-chased clover leaf designs, Bordered with, and set with gemstones on the top rim and base of the case. Exquisitely topped with a fine filigree crown and a gorgeous filigree flower that is implanted in its center.
Pull-out tab has the words "Blessed is Mordechai Cursed be Haman" engraved on top with a multi-colored gem for its fasten able handle. Case also has the year 5653 (1892) engraved amongst the outer hand-chasing.
Scroll and case are in excellent condition.
