Among the signatories: Rabbi Shalom Moshe Halevi Ungar of Neutra, Rabbi Raphael Blum of Kashau, Rabbi Moshe Neuschloss of Szerdahely (Dunaszerdahely), Rabbi Chananye Yom Tov Lipa Deutch of Kiraly Helmetz, Rabbi Simche Bunim Greenberger of Bratislava, Rabbi Moshe Eliezer Fromowitz of Šaľa, & 10 additional Rabbis.
Historical background: After the Holocaust, the urgent need arose to restore the ruins. A suggestion was then made that perhaps it was time to unite with the Neologs, whose communities, as we know, were banned by all the great Rabbis of Hungary in the year 1869.
In this convocation, the Rabbis reject the proposal completely and the prohibition stands. As us known, at the time this question was sent to the Holy Rabbi of Belz by several Rabbis of Hungary and he was the one who ordered not to take the fateful step. They finish their call with the cry מי לה’ אלינו!
