Born in Cracow, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Kirschbaum (1896-1942) served as a Dayan in Frankfurt from 1927. In hiding in France during World War Two, he was seized by the Gestapo on Shabbos Shuvah 1942, and was taken to Auschwitz, where he was murdered, Hy”d.
