Owner’s signatures and inscriptions on the page before the title page, "Eliezer Lipman… Av Beit Din…".

Many antique glosses, short and long, from three to four different authors. [It is possible that part of those glosses belonged to Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh from Zamosc- see enclosed manuscript copy for comparison].

Rabbi Eliezer Lipman of Lissa, Av Beit Din of Zülz, was the son in law of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh from Zamosc, Av Beit Din and author of the “Tiferet Tzvi” responsum. He also wrote the “Mishnat Rabbi Eliezer” [never printed?] which included the answers he had received from his father in law in the Tiferet Tzvi responsum. He died in 1810.

[“Beit Ya’akov” front page and three leaves missing], 4-128, [8] leaves; [4], 96 leaves. 28.5cm. Good condition. Antique leather and wood binding adorned with engravings and partial clasps, slightly worn.

The last [8] leaves in the “Beit Ya’akov responsa” are rare and cannot be found in many copies of the book. See the Bibliography Institute CD, record 0136211
