These very fancy sterling silver candlesticks bear hallmarks for England. This pair was an expensive gift to a member of a Jewish organization to use as Sabbath candlesticks. The dedication on the base reads "Presented by Members of the General and Ladies Aid Committee of the Talmud Torah to Miss Sara Watchman on the Occasion of Her Marriage to Mr. Asher Seligman 28th Dec. 1927". made in 1880 by James Bembridge Hawksworth Eyre & Co
Weighs 3175.9 grams (but they are weighted), 13in 32.5cm tall.

Asher Seligman married Sarah Watchman in Dublin, Ireland. Sarah was born in 1904 and Asher, a clothier, was born 1903.
Sarah was the daughter of Jacob Watchman and Minney (nee Marks) from Lithuania. The family settled in Dublin in the late 1890’s.
