A nice Hamlatza letter in the hand of the Gaon & Tzadik Rabbi Yeshua Greenwald Rabbi of Chust.
Chust 1942.
Accompanied by 2 letters of Rabbi Moshe Ben Moshe Weiss to the ‘Chevrat Hizharu’ in Budapest that gave out stipends to poor Yeshiva students.
First letter is 4 sided & he writes Divrei Torah.
In the second letter he explains why he can’t come himself to Budapest as he does not have the proper documents to move about & he is afraid the army will catch him.
The Gaon Rabbi Yeshua Greenwald was born in Chust to his father Rabbi Avraham Yosef the son of the famous Arugas Habosem. Son in law of the Desh Rebbe Yechezkel Panet.
He helped his brother in law administer the Yeshiva there. Rabbi in Ungvar & when Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Duschinski left Chust for Jerusalem he took over his post.
