This multi-colored stencil draws it's design inspiration from the popular "papercuts" that were made by Jewish artisans in Eastern Europe. Here it imitates those papercuts (many were designated for a mizrach or sheviti, like this example), with bold, 20th century colors such as orange and royal blue. Verses such as "Swift as a deer, light as an eagle, to do your will, Father in heaven" (Ethics of the fathers 5:21), are on the borders, along with a profile of a deer and bird above those excerpts.
